The children’s syllabus consists of 9 belts:
Beginners:
White belt, Yellow belt, Green belt.
intermediate:
Orange belt, Blue belt, Red belt.
Advanced:
Purple belt, Brown belt, Black belt.
The children’s syllabus is designed specifically for students aged 6 to 14 years old, providing a structured and supportive introduction to the principles and practice of Wing Chun. Students begin their journey at the white belt level and progress through eight graded stages, ultimately working toward the black belt, which represents the highest achievement within the TWCS children’s curriculum.
Progression through the grades is determined by each student’s commitment, development, and technical ability. Depending on their progress and consistency, students may complete up to three gradings per year, allowing motivated learners to advance steadily while maintaining high standards of skill and discipline.
Upon earning their black belt, students begin a gradual transition into the adult classes, where they continue to refine their abilities in a more advanced training environment. During this transition phase, black belt graduates are given the opportunity to fast-track toward the first adult grading, recognising the strong technical foundation they have already acquired.
In addition, black belt students receive exclusive invitations to participate in the Black Belts Only Club—a dedicated training group that offers more specialised instruction, advanced concepts, and mentorship. This provides young practitioners not only with the opportunity to deepen their martial arts knowledge, but also to develop leadership skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging within the wider Wing Chun community.
